Former Soldier - Shaun 'Johno' Johnson served between a Combat and Mounted Ceremonial Horse Regiment. Tours of duty in Northern Ireland saw him deployed to West Belfast, HMP Maze and County Tyrone.


Johno is an actor/writer/producer and Ambassador for Hats off For Bootsie (HoFB) and presently working on a new play, The Terminus, associated with HoFB. The Terminus is set for a West End debut 2022. Johno created and produced a short film with the writer of HoFB (in post-production). The film Service No Longer Required will preview in London City later in 2021, venue TBC.

Johno co-hosts a YouTube channel, On Parade UK, launched during COVID to connect people. Since then, On Parade UK got commissioned to make several films for the NHS.

Recent acting credits include TV: Grantchester 5 Episode 6 ITV (2020), Film: Paai The Mat (2020), Stage: Soldier On, The Other Palace Theatre, London (2018), voted one of The Guardian readers favourite theatre of 2018. Shaun wrote and performed Mind Frag at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse Shakespeare's Globe. Other credits include playing Hamlet a CVP production at (Globe Theatre, London) Richard III (RSC Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon) and Malvolio Twelfth Night at (Leicester Square Theatre, West End). He has performed for HRH Prince Charles at the Shakespeare 400th Anniversary here


Johno has appeared on television, radio, and several national newspapers, talking about his challenges to raise awareness about mental health after leaving the military family. In between the arts, Johno spends his time at The Poppy Factory as an Employment Coordinator, helping injured veterans get back into work.
